Kiku

Score checker for the JLPT

Type the section scores from a score report to see pass or fail under the published rules: every section against its floor, the total against the pass mark, how far each score is from its mark, the CEFR level a passing report shows, and where the total sits among recent examinees.

What this checks, and what it cannot

  • It applies the published rule: the total must reach the pass mark and every scoring section must reach its floor. One section under its floor fails the whole test, whatever the total.
  • Scores on a score report are scaled, not counts of correct answers, so the same ability earns the same score at any sitting. A percent-correct from a practice test is not a scaled score and cannot be turned into one here.
  • The percentile ranks are read from the organizers' published table, which pools six tests and is drawn from a curve fitted to the scores; between its 5-point steps, Kiku draws a straight line.
  • Nothing you type is stored or sent anywhere: it stays on this page.
